San Juan Cotzal rebozo.

This post-2000 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in two warp-striped cotton base panels. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring bird and geometric motifs on both ends. It has finely hand knotted fringes on both ends. This example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Sra. Tomasa Calbo Mateo at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel.
