Concepcion Chicarichapa daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced black cotton base panels joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The surface decoration is supplementary brocade featuring exuberant bird and plant designs typical of Chicarichapa huipils. The collar is trimmed with hand embroidery and opened for easier access. Huipils from Chicarichapa are not common. This beautiful example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Sra. Ema and Carmen Tepeú, mother and daughter, at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua. W 94 x L 66 cm. (16-83) $135. OBO
