San Juan Comalapa ceremonial (sobre) huipil. (W100 x L134 cm if opened) Hand woven on a back strap loom in two well matched cotton panels. Supplementary brocade decoration including the double-headed eagle motif across the chest, some in silk. This fine sobre huipil was worn over the regular huipil at cofradia ceremonies, weddings and other ceremonial functions. Circa 1980. Excellent condition.
