Colotenango faja (sash).

This post-1980 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom predominantly in red but with multicolored warp stripes. It is decorated on both ends with supplementary brocade featuring geometric designs typical of Colotenango huipils, plus knotted fringes and added tassels. This very fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from a private collection in the US. W 18.5 x L 286 cm plus knottings and tassels. (21-77) $ 75 or best offer.
