Colotenango faja (sash).

This post-1980 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom predominantly in red but with multicolored warp stripes. It is decorated on both ends with supplementary brocade featuring geometric designs in the soumak technique typical of Colotenango huipils, plus knotted endings and tassels. This example is in excellent condition. It was acquired at Tipicos Lety on Calle Santander in Panajachel. W 17 x L 196 cm plus endings and tassels. (10-342) $50. OBO
