Coban daily huipil. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three black cotton base panels. These panels are decorated with dense supplementary brocade in many contrasting colors and featuring the deer and universal diamond motifs typical of Coban huipils. Coban style huipils are popular among Guatemalan Maya women throughout the Maya area. This beautiful example is in very good condition. It was acquired from Estefana Culajah of Patzún at the La Fuente market in Antigua Guatemala. W 96 x L 48 cm. (9-16) $ 80.
