Coban daily huipil. W95 x L105 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three red cotton base panels. It is decorated with cotton supplementary brocade in deer, human and universal diamonds motifs. Coban style huipils are now worn widely by Guatemalan Maya women throughout the Maya area. The head and arm holes are trimmed with velvet. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Juana Mateo Rosales of Panajachel. (8-97) $ 95. SOLD.
