This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three black cotton base panels that are completely covered with supplementary brocade in variations on universal diamonds motifs. Coban style huipils are now worn widely by Guatemalan Maya women throughout the Maya area. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Ana Carolina Ajanel of Chichicastenango. (8-101) $ 80.
