Coban daily huipil. This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton base panels. These panels are densely covered with rows of supplementary brocade in several different colors. Typical Coban motifs include deer, universal diamonds, and people. Collar trimmed with crochet. Coban huipils are popular with women throughout the Maya area. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeú at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua.
