Coban daily huipil.

This post-1980 huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three black cotton base panels. These panels are heavily decorated with supplementary brocade in many contrasting colors and featuring the traditional deer, universal diamond and plant motifs. Coban style huipils are popular among Guatemalan Maya women throughout the Maya area. This classic example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Ema and Carmen Tepeú of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G) at the La Fuente market in Antigua Guatemala. W 87 x L 44 cm opened. (14-156) $ 100. OBO
