This contemporary blusa features hand embroidered floral motifs around the head and arm openings utilizing a wrapped needle technique. The embroidery is backed with a cotton lining. The head and arm openings are trimmed with a hand embroidered buttonhole stitch. The base material is a light, porous white commercial cotton blend lace fabric. These blusas have become popular with Maya women throughout highland Guatemala. This blusa is in excellent condition. It was acquired from Estefana Culajah of Patzún at the La Fuente textile market in Antigua Guatemala. W62 x L48 cm. (11-167) $ 50.
