Coban blusa. W 104 x L 98 cm opened. This contemporary blusa features hand embroidery of floral motifs around the head and arm openings utilizing a wrapped needle technique. The embroidery is backed with a cotton lining. The head and arm openings are trimmed in black hand crochet. The base material is a light, porous silver/blue commercial lace fabric believed to be a cotton blend. These blouses have become popular with Maya women throughout Guatemala.
