Coban daily huipil.
This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three
black cotton base panels with a wider center panel. These panels are densely covered with supplementary brocade in
many contrasting colors and featuring the traditional deer motif. Coban style huipils are popular among
Guatemalan Maya women throughout the Maya area. This fine example is in excellent condition. It was acquired from
Ana Carolina Ajanel of Chichicastenango. W98 x L100 cm opened. (10-24) $85. OBO
