Coban daily huipil. W94 x L87 cm opened. This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three red cotton base panels with a wider center panel. These panels are covered with supplementary brocade in many contrasting colors and featuring deer, human and universal diamond motifs. Coban style huipils are popular among Guatemalan Maya women throughout the Maya area. This fine example has a fluted collar and arm holes. It is in excellent condition.
