Chuarrancho wedding huipil. W123 X L 320 cm opened. This exceptional post-1980 wedding huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in three white cotton panels that are joined by hand embroidered decorative seams. The center panel is more heavily decorated with supplementary brocade depicting animal and bird motifs, including a row of the double headed eagle motif. Much of the brocade is in silk and there is some intentional stain from it. This huipil is a recent copy of a circa-1920's huipil, made for a wedding. It is one of a kind.
