Chinautla daily huipil.
This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one cotton panel. Although likely woven in Totonicapan and very similar to daily huipils
from San Pedro Sacatepequez (SM), it is believed to be in the style of Chinautla and, thus, quite rare. The neck and arm holes are trimmed with velvet.
Design motifs include birds, universal diamonds and plumed serpents. It is in excellent condition. It was collected from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of
San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). W88 x L134 cm opened. (6-232) $ 60. OBO.
