Chinautla daily huipil.
This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in one white cotton base panel. Although likely woven in
Totonicapan and very similar to daily huipils from San Pedro Sacatepequez (SM), it is in the style of Chinautla and, thus, quite rare. The head opening
is trimmed with a hand embroidered collar. Design motifs include paired quetzals and universal diamonds. It is in excellent condition. It was
acquired from Petronila Mendea Bocó of Santa Maria de Jesus at the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua Guatemala. W82 x L78 cm. (12-282) $ 80. OBO
