Chichicastenango daily huipil.
(W90 x L142 cm) This post-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in 3 black cotton base panels joined by hand embroidered multi-colored decorative seams. The center panel is wider (33 cm) and more extensively decorated than the side panels (28.5 cm). The central decorative motif on all panels is floral. The typical sunburst collar was embroidered chain stitching in cotton over velvet. This fine huipil is in very good condition.
