Santo Tomás Chichicastenango vintage men’s ceremonial faja (belt).

This circa-1960 faja was hand woven on a back strap loom in one red cotton panel. Each end has an area of supplementary brocade featuring geometric motifs in silk and hand knotted fringes made of the warp thread endings. This faja is an integral part of the men’s cofradia costume. This exceptional example is in very good condition. It was acquired from an important private collection in Antigua Guatemala. W 31 x L 254 cm plus fringes. (19-195) $ 200 or best offer.
