(W92 x L124 cm opened) This post-1980 Chajul cofradía huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two well-balanced white cotton/rayon blend panels joined by a hand embroidered decorative seams. This base fabric blend is known as “aleman” and is prized for its softness and drape. This huipil features purple silk embroidery around the collar. It also features double-headed eagles motifs.
