Chajul daily huipil. W90 x L120 cm opened. This daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two white cotton panels. It is unique in that it is like new condition, but done in a very well executed a pre-1970’s style – except that the base is white instead of the red typical of the period. It is most likely a very well done retro piece. It features six very typical bird motifs on each side in brocade. The arm and head holds are finished with hand embroidery and crochet. Collected from Ema and Carmen Tepeu of San Pedro Sacatepequez (G). (7-06) $ 80. SOLD
