Chajul ceremonial (cofradia) huipil.

This huipil has a hand woven very tightly in two white cotton panels with thin red warp stripes.. The collar is decorated with silk embroidery. The panels feature numerous animal motifs, mostly in silk. This is easily the largest and most decorated of all the Chajul ceremonial huipils we’ve seen. It is in excellent condition. It was acquired from a private collection in Guatemala. W 111 x L 72 cm. (18-79) $180. OBO
