Chajul rebozo (shawl).

This post-2000 rebozo was hand woven on a back strap loom in two dark blue cotton panels with narrow white warp stripes. The blue base color was achieved with indigo natural dye. It is decorated with supplementary weft brocade bands of bird and plant motifs. It has hand knotted fringes on both warp ends. This is a fine example of an increasingly rare item. It is in very good condition. It was acquired from Tomasa Calbo Mateo at the “bomberos” textile market in Panajachel. W 104 x L 174 cm plus fringes. (15-187) Was $ 175. Now $140 or best offer.
