Almolonga daily huipil. .

This circa-1980 daily huipil was hand woven on a back strap loom in two red cotton base panels. “The Almolonga huipil is intricate and solidly brocaded above the waist.” (Altman and West, “Threads of Identity”, p. 121) This huipil is decorated with supplementary brocade entirely in traditional geometric patterns. This huipil is in very good condition. It was acquired from Petronila Mendez Bocó in the Mercado des Artesanos in Antigua. W 73 x L 80 cm. (15-251) $ 80. OBO
